Training

Mostly endurance: running, some triathlon, and strength training on the side.

Hours of training recorded on my watch each week. Walks don't count. Some sessions are missing: in the Ironman week, for example, only the marathon was recorded on this watch.

How I train

Mostly running, with cycling and some swimming in triathlon years, plus strength training to keep the rest of the body working. I train with a plan and look afterwards at what actually happened. That's also why I built Baseline.

The Ironman in 2025 was the biggest single goal so far. Since then I've moved towards longer trail runs, where pacing, eating and staying patient matter more than speed.

Running club

I also organise runs for UTURC, the University of Turku running club. Easy group runs, a marathon training group and the occasional race.

The live numbers

The resting heart rate, HRV and training time on the body come from my watch and update every morning. Here's how that works.
